From the artist's desk...
Fall is just around the corner, and I am preparing for it with a lot of brand new paintings which will be featured here soon. I'm doing fewer art shows than in years past, but you can still look for me this fall at Huffhines Art Trails, a 2-day art festival in October, and Weiler House Fine Art Gallery, where they have quite a few of my available paintings.
In my last newsletter, I talked about the Nicaragua Art Show being held by my local church. The show was a great success! It was a collaboration between photographer Clint Brewer and myself, with a lot of help from the team that travelled on the mission trip to Nicaragua back in June. The show was held on Sunday, August 29 at 6:30 p.m. Any art that was not sold at the show is still available for sale, with all proceeds going towards the schools and ministries sponsored by Woodcreek Church. You can find out more about those ministries at Clinton Brewer's site, http://www.art4awareness.com.
Here are the two paintings I submitted. If interested in purchasing, please e-mail me at annarosebain@gmail.com.
"Homework on the Porch - House of Hope, Nicaragua"
30" x 20" - oil on linen

"Joy in the Journey - Nicaragua School Bus"
24" x 36" - oil on linen
Donating art for such an amazing cause really put things into perspective for me. I'm so grateful for what I have, especially that I can live here in comfort and do what I love for a living. Most of the people depicted in my paintings and in Clint's photographs literally have nothing, yet their faces reflect great joy and hope for the future. My hope is that by giving to their cause, these people will be have everything they need so that they can continue wearing those smiles.
Sincerely,
Anna Rose Bain
