New Featured Painting

Here is something unlike anything I've ever done. I consider it an homage to William Bouguereau, who often painted nymphs, cherubs and angels. The model is my niece, who was just learning how to shoot a bow and arrow. Her expression is a mixture of uncertainty and determination; she is a little warrior princess in training. Accolades & Exhibitions

Things are really taking off! I want to say THANK YOU to those of you who have continued to believe in me and support my art as I break into the national and international art scene.

First of all, I am thrilled and honored to be included in Southwest Art Magazine's annual feature "21 Under 31" in their September issue. Click the link to read it here, but be sure to pick up a copy of the magazine, too!

Second, I have a couple of upcoming demos. I will be painting from a live model at my local gallery, Weiler House Fine Art, on Saturday (TODAY!), September 7 from 5-8 p.m., as part of the Fort Worth Gallery Night. Stop by and take a look! Many of my paintings will also be available for sale.

I will also be giving a brief portrait demo at the Trinity Arts Guild on Monday, September 9, from 7:30-9, as a teaser for my workshop there coming up in March 2014.

September 16 - October 25, 2013: "Maggie," and "The Glass Sparrow"will be in the Richeson75 Portrait and Figures 2013 Juried Competition at the Richeson School and Gallery in Kimberly, Wisconsin.

October 4-November 30, 2013: "Twin Arts" will be in the International Guild of Realism's 8th Annual International Juried Exhibition at the Tempe Center for the Arts in Tempe, Arizona. Opening Reception Saturday, October 5 from 6-9 p.m.

October 1-25, 2013: "Nurturer" will exhibited in the 117th Annual Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Juried Open Exhibition at the National Arts Club in New York City. Benefit Reception supporting the Metropolitan Museum of Art will be on October 11 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the National Arts Club.

October 4-6, 2013: Three of my plein air paintings, "La Jolla Light," "Abbot Kinney Sunset," and "The Sullivan House," will be included in the "Brush with History" Sale and Exhibition at the Dallas Heritage Village.

Commissioned Portraits

Meanwhile, it's that time of year: portrait commission season! The holidays are coming up, as are countless birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, retirements, etc. If you have been thinking about commissioning a custom, original oil painting, don't hesitate! I will work one on one with you to create the masterpiece you've envisioned.
